Uzbek carpets

Traditions of Uzbek people in carpet weaving is extremely ancient, they are the result of hard work and creative research of generations.
Carpets created by numerous skilled masters working at home, mostly in rural areas of Uzbekistan, are perfect in technique and in its decoration. Local masters are saving with care and developing fine art traditions of carpet weaving.
Uzbek carpets and rugs are divided into three types: short nap carpets called – “Gilyam”, long nap carpets called “Djulhirs” and “Palas” style tissues used as a whole floor carpeting.
